Plane-spotting at SXM, from our deck
One of the world's great runways is a five-minute stroll from your room — and an even better view from our pool deck. Here's what's landing and taking off right now, and a countdown to the next big jet.

Which way are they landing today?
The wind decides which end of the runway is in use — and whether the jets drop in low over the bay. The world keeps flying in regardless.
Reading the runway from a lounger
Spotting at SXM has a rhythm. Learn it once and you'll plan your afternoons around it — most of our regulars do.

The three o'clock wave
Between three and six most afternoons, the wide-bodies — KLM, Air France, the big charters — drift in low over Simpson Bay on final approach. From our deck it's the best free show in the Caribbean.

The wind sets the stage
When the trade winds blow from the east, jets land over the lagoon — that famous low pass. The board above flags every wide-body, so you know which ones are worth walking up for.

A drink in hand
Grab something cold from the pool bar, find a lounger, and let the schedule do the rest. The rumble overhead, the runway right there — this is why guests book the upper floors.
